Important Notice
It is not an infringement for the owner of a copy of a computer program to make or authorize the making of another copy or adaptation of that computer program provided:
- that such a new copy or adaptation is created as an essential step in the utilization of the computer program in conjunction with a machine and that it is used in no other manner,
- that such new copy or adaptation is for archival purposes only and that all archival copies are destroyed in the event that continued possession of the computer program should cease to be rightful.
The Cd Mate forum provides information and resources related to making a "PERSONAL BACKUP" of "legally" owned Game CD's. Cd-Mate.com will not be held responsible if any of the information contained on this site is used in the pursuit of illegal activities such as piracy or copyright infringement. You are ONLY allowed to participate in the cd mate forum if you need information to make a backup of an "Original Game CD" of which you are the legal owner.
If you are making backups of original games please remember:
- Under copyright laws you may "NOT" sell, rent or give away any backups of copyrighted Games CD's.
- You are legally allowed to make a "personal backup" of an Original Game CD as long as you are the owner of the "ORIGINAL" Game CD.
- You "MUST DESTROY" any backups if you don't own the Original Game CD anymore (e.g. selling or giving it away).
Please check any special conditions along with the cd to making a backup copy "before" you make a backup.
